Huggy Wuggy was originally created by Playtime CO. as a friendly toy intended to be loved by children. It quickly became the company’s most successful product. However, prior to the events of the game, Huggy Wuggy was modified—his human conscience was transferred into his body, albeit corrupted—turning him into a terrifying monster. His first appearance involves him pretending to be a statue, attempting to deceive the protagonist. Once the protagonist finds the key and restores power to a specific room, Huggy Wuggy detaches from his pedestal and begins stalking the player—sneaking through vents or lurking in hard-to-reach spots. It isn’t until the player ventures into the dark that Huggy Wuggy emerges from the shadows and chases them through conveyor belt tunnels. Whenever the player fails to reach the end of the belt and the safety of the catwalk, Huggy Wuggy appears and captures them with its sharp teeth. If the player successfully reaches the catwalk, they must push a box to block Huggy Wuggy’s path and then destroy it, causing both of them to fall. When the player survives, Huggy Wuggy falls into the void after colliding with some pipes, leaving its fate uncertain—whether it survived or was destroyed remains unknown.
